Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast
If you live or work in Surfers Paradise and you are considering a hair transplant, our clinic in neighbouring Bundall is less than five minutes away. We offer doctor-led Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) in a private, purpose-equipped facility at 86 Ashmore Rd — close enough that the commute to your appointment is shorter than most people’s morning coffee run.
Hair loss can be a deeply personal concern. Whether you have noticed your hairline shifting gradually over the years or you are dealing with more noticeable thinning across the crown, the decision to investigate treatment options is a significant one. This page explains what we offer, who we are and why patients from Surfers Paradise and the surrounding suburbs trust us with their care.
Surfers Paradise sits at the heart of the Gold Coast, and our Bundall clinic is right next door. The drive from central Surfers Paradise to our door is roughly five minutes via the Gold Coast Highway or through the Isle of Capri. That proximity makes every stage of the process more convenient: the initial consultation, the procedure day itself and the follow-up visits during recovery.
But location alone is not a reason to choose a hair transplant clinic. What sets us apart is the way we deliver care. Our procedures are performed by AHPRA-registered doctors — Dr Alexander Brooks and Dr Ranadi Vincent — who personally carry out every extraction and every graft placement. This is not a clinic where a doctor designs the hairline, leaves the room and hands the surgical work to a team of technicians. Your doctor is present and active throughout the entire procedure.
Before any treatment plan is proposed, we use TrichoLAB — a diagnostic imaging platform that produces detailed, data-driven analysis of your scalp and donor area. Rather than relying on a visual estimate of how many grafts you need, your doctor works from high-resolution measurements of follicle density, hair calibre and scalp health. The result is a treatment plan that is precise, personalised and grounded in objective data rather than guesswork.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a modern hair transplant technique that involves removing individual hair follicles from the donor area — usually the back and sides of the scalp, where hair is genetically resistant to the hormonal changes that cause pattern hair loss — and transplanting them into areas of thinning or baldness.
Unlike older strip-harvesting methods (known as FUT), FUE does not involve a linear incision across the back of the head. There are no stitches and no strip scar. Instead, each follicular unit is extracted individually through a tiny circular punch, leaving extraction sites that heal to become virtually invisible. This makes FUE particularly appealing for patients who want to wear their hair short, as there is no linear scar to conceal.
The transplanted follicles are placed into carefully prepared recipient sites in the thinning area. Your doctor controls the angle, direction and depth of each placement to ensure the transplanted hair grows in a pattern that matches your existing hair. The goal is a result that looks entirely natural — hair that falls, parts and moves the way it should, so that no one can tell a transplant has taken place.
FUE is performed under local anaesthesia. You are awake throughout the procedure, and most patients find it significantly more comfortable than they anticipated. The length of the session depends on the number of grafts being transplanted, but a typical procedure runs between six and eight hours.
Every hair transplant journey begins with a thorough, face-to-face consultation at our clinic. This is not a sales appointment — it is a genuine medical assessment designed to determine whether a hair transplant is appropriate for your individual situation and, if so, what approach will give you the best possible outcome.
During the consultation, your doctor will examine your scalp, assess the quality and density of your donor hair, discuss your goals and expectations, and use TrichoLAB imaging to build an objective picture of where you stand. If a transplant is appropriate, you will receive a detailed treatment plan including the estimated number of grafts, the areas to be treated and the anticipated timeframe for recovery and growth.
If a transplant is not the right option — whether because your hair loss is still progressing, your donor supply is limited, or because a less invasive approach would serve you better — your doctor will tell you directly and discuss the alternatives. We would rather give you an honest assessment than recommend a procedure that is unlikely to meet your expectations. You can read more about the full process on our Your Journey page.
A hair transplant is one tool in a broader approach to managing hair loss, but it is not the only one. Many patients benefit from non-surgical treatments either as a standalone solution or alongside a transplant procedure.
Medical management with prescription medications can slow or stabilise pattern hair loss by addressing the hormonal mechanisms that cause follicle miniaturisation. For some patients, particularly those in the earlier stages of hair loss, medical management alone may be sufficient to maintain their existing hair without the need for surgery.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is another non-surgical option we offer. PRP involves drawing a small sample of your own blood, concentrating the platelets and growth factors, and injecting the resulting preparation into the scalp. The aim is to stimulate the hair follicles and support healthier growth. PRP can be used on its own or as a complement to a hair transplant to support graft survival and the health of existing native hair.
During your consultation, your doctor will discuss whether non-surgical options are appropriate for your situation — either as an alternative to surgery or as part of a combined approach.
While male pattern hair loss is the condition most people associate with hair transplants, hair loss is by no means limited to men. Many women experience thinning hair, whether related to hormonal changes, genetics, medical conditions or other factors. The emotional impact can be just as significant — and often more so, given the social expectations around women’s hair.
We welcome both male and female patients at our clinic. The assessment process is the same: a thorough examination, objective diagnostic imaging and an honest conversation about what treatment options are appropriate. For women, the pattern of hair loss is often different from men — diffuse thinning across the top of the scalp rather than a receding hairline — and the treatment approach needs to account for that. You can learn more about our approach on our Women’s Hair Restoration page.

In the first few days, you can expect some mild swelling and redness in the treated areas, along with tiny scabs at the graft sites. These resolve within seven to fourteen days. Most patients return to desk-based work within three to five days, and light exercise can usually resume after about two weeks. You can read a detailed breakdown of the recovery timeline on our Recovery Guide page.
The transplanted hairs will shed within the first few weeks — this is entirely normal and expected. New growth typically begins around month three, with noticeable improvement from month six onward. The full result continues to develop for twelve to eighteen months as the transplanted hair thickens and matures. Our Results page explains the growth timeline in more detail.
